ABOUT THE DOT FOUNDATION
The DOT (Do One Thing) Foundation was founded by extreme adventurer, highly respected inspirational speaker and conservationist Braam Malherbe because of the vital need to fund best practices in the conservation of our biodiversity.
The core business of the DOT Foundation, as envisioned by founder Braam Malherbe, is to gather funding to support best practices in the conservation of the Earth's biodiversity. With its focus firmly fixed on conservation, energy, waste and water, its current efforts include the protection of endangered wildlife – such as rhinoceros, wild dog, lion, elephant, pangolin and vulture – and flora or fauna important to eco system sustainability. The DOT Foundation is equally committed to the protection of threatened marine species and amplifying awareness of climate change and its dire consequences, as well as any form of environmental irresponsibility.
The DOT Foundation recognises applicants that are actively protecting, or attempting to protect, threatened and endangered species. This may be direct or indirect. 'Direct' means actively saving species. ‘Indirect’ refers to projects aimed at protecting species (such as education, reduction of global warming and habitat destruction). The Foundation aims to fund these initiatives to ensure long-term results.
